Process UV- Photometer Model UVI-II


The dual-channel process UV- photometer model UVI-II measures the UV absorption of liquids in the process.

Configurable for the measurement of:

UV254 / UV280, SAK, TOC, COD, PAC, toluene, benzene, …..

Measuring principle:

The inline photometer model UVI-II uses the principle of dual-channel light absorption to detect the UV absorption in liquids. Two LED sources with different wavelengths of emission are installed in the optics of the sensor.

Measuring channel: Detects the absorption caused by turbidity and UV absorbing substances.
Reference channel: Detects turbidity only.
The difference between the signals ([UV absorption + turbidity] – turbidity) results in the adjusted UV value.

Dual wavelength absorbance measurement method:
– Simultaneous measurement of absorbance at two different wavelengths
– Enables precise measurements and compensates for influences of turbidity, window fouling , lamp ageing, …
Calibration / maintenance interval typically 12 months (depending by application):
– Less effort for maintenance and longer service life.
– As a rule, calibration and maintenance are required every 12 months.
– However, the maintenance interval depends on the measuring range and application.
Measuring cell material typically stainless steel 316L / 1.4404
– The measuring cell is made of stainless steel.
– Other materials such as titanium, Hastelloy, Peek or PTFE are optionally available.
Measuring window material: 
– Sapphire is used as the window material.
– Other materials such as borosilicate or Plexiglas are optionally available.
Sealing material:
– The seals are made of FKM.
– Optionally, seals made of other materials such as FFKM, EPDM or silicone are available.
Process connections: DIN flanges, ANSI flanges, NPT, …:
– Various connection options for different process requirements.
Measuring Range: 0 – 0.1 AU up to 0 – 5 AU:
– The measuring range extends from 0 to 0.1 absorption units up to 0 – 5 absorption units.
Optional cleaning Jets:
– A probe with nozzles for cleaning the measuring cell can be installed as an option.
Cleaning is CIP-capable:
– The Sensor is suitable for automated cleaning in the pipe (CIP).
